It's tough, especially as women, to feel great about our bodies. The pressure from the media and the beauty industry has created unrealistic beauty standards. It has stripped us of our confidence. The need to be slimmer, younger-looking, with the perfect skin and body proportions often slows us or stops us from really leaning into our calling. Because of this, Eliza Kingsford does what she does; helps women stand in their power by helping them with their food addictions. I just needed to get her on the show!

Eliza Kingsford is a licensed psychotherapist and behavior change specialist who helps clients struggling with food addiction, body image and emotional eating. Her work has been featured on Dr. Phil, Dr. Oz, NBC Health, CNN Health, Health Magazine, Shape Magazine, MindBodyGreen and many more. She’s the author of Brain-Powered Weight Loss, and has sat in on scientific advisory boards with leading researchers in the field of obesity and weight management. She is turning the diet industry on its head by combining the science of nutrition with the psychology of eating to create lasting results for her clients. She offers resources, classes and 1:1 coaching for those serious about making the right life changes needed to love the body they live in.

In this episode you will learn about:

  • Why she hates the term “COVID 15”

  • Her favorite quote is “Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that. “Martin Luther king

  • You have to be unapologetic and consistent in your vision in who you want to serve and how you want to do it, but also let go of how you want to get there.

  • How to stay laser focused on your why

  • How early in her career she thought she had so much to prove so she did less listening and more proving

  • How the body holds onto trauma and it manifests itself in other emotional problems

  • That there is a strong push towards body positivity in our culture, but the problem is that people aren’t working on the inner beauty first

  • That body image issues with women are they too much and never enough of something

  • Why we need to let go of the outdated narratives about how we are supposed to look like, show up and act as women

  • How she believes that negative body image is a safety blanket to not have to show up

What it means to be a wild woman:“Being unapologetically authentic. To being aligned in the most version ad vibration of myself.”
