“We have never had the availability of success, as women, as we have today.” - Jennifer Szpigiel

Hey you wild woman!

Question: What does the word leadership mean to you?

A few years ago, I thought it meant setting a course, and my team would make our way there. So many did help, but I failed to recognize how much input was needed to inspire and motivate them to go far enough to see success. I craved proof that I was sure and that people wanted to work with me.

I failed in so many ways as a leader and have the battle scars to prove it. But, I learned that we need to be willing to mend, heal and forgive so that we don't seek validation. You see, the goal as a leader is to be in integrity with your mission because people are attracted to you when you live in virtue of your purpose. But, to get there, you must do the work you love and work with people who inspire you.

This week, I chatted with the incredible Jen Szpigiel of Becoming Iconic, a leadership expert & mentor on all things shifting what it means, as women, to be a leader (she even defines 'humble' for us, because we DO need that clarity.) Jen dives deep on why it's so damn important to heal and constantly work on ourselves to become more fulfilled with our work.

In this episode, you will learn about how:

  • No one has walked our journey and why our personal experiences help us become who we need to be.

  • People will connect to you because you are XYZ.

  • How personal growth is doing the work that we all want to avoid.

  • When you're still wounded, you project your fears.

  • Our kids absorb everything they see around them.

  • Leadership is not being something for someone else, it's being all of ourselves so that other people can come around us and accept that.

  • Ego comes from a place of 'I am not good enough.'

What it means to be a WILD woman:

“To be all of ourselves. The sass, the rebellious, the tidy, the peaceful...a woman who is completely herself. She is not afraid of other people seeing that.”- Jennifer Szpigiel
