129. How to Avoid Negative thought Spirals with Topsie Vandenbosch

I'll never forget the day that my ex-business partner told me she was leaving the company. It came out of the blue, and I was left feeling the ultimate dread:

  • How would I run this million-dollar business alone?

  • Who am I to do this?

  • Will my clients trust me with everything?

My thoughts spiraled out of control, and I could barely get out of bed for days (ok, so there was a little more than just her throwing in the towel -- a story for another day.) Finally, I told myself this was silly and that I shouldn't be so fearful of running a successful business alone - hello, imposter syndrome!

So I slowed down (Read: UNPLUGGED) and tuned into where my blocks were.

  1. The most obvious: I didn't feel confident

  2. I thought my team would laugh at me and resign

  3. I didn't think I was smart enough (rewind to douchey college teacher who told me I was dumb and to seek another profession.)

And guess what happened?

None of that. Absolutely zero, zilch, nada, nothing.

My runaway thoughts got so bad and consistent that I started to believe them. But, ugh! Feel me on this one?

This is why I fell in love with the fabulous Topsie Vandenbosch. She not only shows up in a way that makes you want to sh*t on your thought spirals but makes you feel seen and heard because we aren't in this alone. So, I DM'd her on Insta and asked her to get a lil' wild with me. And here we are!

Topsie Vandenbosch’s mission is to help high-achieving 6 & 7 figure business owners and corporate executives destroy negative thought patterns + behaviors using emotional intelligence and mindset strategy.

She worked as a mental health therapist in her own clinic for nine years until she closed her practice in 2020 to pursue a full-time career as the Mindset + Emotional Intelligence Coach. She is a fiery force and definitely someone to tune in to.

In this episode, you will learn about:

  • How entrepreneurs become very disconnected from life

  • That you know what your audience already needs, so go and create it

  • Why you should position your expertise and skill set as the thing your customers want to buy

  • Why we struggle to do the inner work, and why we need to call ourselves out on negative thought patterns and behaviors

  • How we constantly seek external validation that what we are doing is right

  • Why we think setting boundaries means we will lose money

  • What is the quantum leap

  • Business owners get discouraged too quickly and give up too soon

  • If you aren't careful with the quantum leap, it can leave you quantum screwed because you're not paying attention to what's happening right now in your business

What it means to be a wild woman:

Untamed. Forgetting the rules, and being rebellious. Rebelling against whatever box people put you in. Being unconventional and fully accepting and owning all parts of you, even the parts that you've had to abandon. - Topsie Vandenbosch
